The artist
The artist, Txini Elorriaga has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country. She has a long and varied artistic background, although we would like to focus on her recent work with ceramics and glass.
Among the professional courses she has attended are:
* During the celebration of Japón cerca de tí (Japan close to you) series of seminars, Txini participated in Mueble Cerámico Escultórico (Furniture using ceramics and sculpture) an intensive 10 day course led by the artist Ito Atsuko in Nigrán, Galicia.
* Sangre de buey, Técnica Triana y Cristalizaciones, a course on three techniques for ceramic glazing offered in the nearby region of Gipuzkoa.
* The Open Wood Workshop directed by Xabier Salaberria and offered through the Center of Artisan Crafts located in Deba, Gipuzkoa.
* The Saragadelos Experience, a month long creative work experience for artists from across the country sponsored by Saragadelos Porcelain Company located in Sargadelos, Galicia in Northern Spain.
* Ceramics Exhibition held in the Sanz Enea Cultural Center in Zarauz, Gipuzkoa.
* Introduction to Blow torch Techniques in Jewellery, a nine-day intensive course offered by María Angeles Escudero and Concha Juárez in the Glass School and National Glass Foundation in La Granja de San Ildefonso, Segovia.
